Changes

We have been undergoing changes in our household. Antonio has left us, seeking an opportunity for a life. Living here, in these walls, has not been much for him. No progress. No chance at independence. He will be missed for the lightness and stability of mood that he brought to this home of ours, but I will not miss seeing the toll it has taken on him. Watching the life being slowly sucked out of him, the aging it has caused, has been unpleasant, to say the least.

Iva goes in tomorrow for a minor procedure. They will be draining some fluid out of her left pleural space.

And in the meantime, we wait for more bad news (or not).

  1. We continue to pray for a miracle for you all. I know you'll miss Antonio desperately, and yet...how can you tell him not to go? what a struggle it must have been for all of you to reach this decision.

    You are not forgotten.

    Love, Sue.

  3. Sorry, there really is nothing to report. If you want to know what is going on with Iva, you will have to ask her. You can look her up on Facebook.

  4. Hello Melissa,

I have been reading you ever since this bog has existed, due to my greatest and deepest concern for my best friend, Iva. I am grateful to you for that.

Nevertheless, your last post is absolutely horrific. And far from the mere truth. Therefore, I am writing.

Knowing the love-birds, however, for long and quite well, I don't agree with you. Antonio didn't leave you. Life for Antonio with Iva has been such an exhilaration for him. Such sheer merriment and ecstatic joy. I can hardly find a person who would do what he did for Iva. Love, patience, endurance, buoyancy, artistic creativity are his attributes with his life with Iva, which I define as a progress. Seeing him back to Skopje, observing the life being restored to him, the rejuvenation it has caused, startled me with amazement. Because he was with Iva. Believe me, it's true. Have you ever listened to 'One night in Houston' by Iva Antonio? Iva has given him a lot, too. Maybe we can post that, instead.

In the meantime, we are waiting for more good news. Right? Are you? Some of us pray, some hope, some believe. So let's keep out minds and hopes intact. Let's be positive, and try to increase the fund. Let's find the right words to tell the world we desperately need their help. Because we care, we love, and we confide in prosperity.

The horror is the truth. It is the realest and truest thing I can say.
